The five-day intensive is the heart of the experience. But your album begins before we arrive — and it continues after we leave.

The four weeks before

We meet with you online once a week for four weeks.

And between those sessions, we ask you to give your album around 30 minutes a day.

That might mean writing.

Listening.

Finishing a lyric.

Trying a melody.

Recording a rough idea.

Playing with one of the creative games we have designed specifically for you.

Or simply following a direction we have agreed on together.

The work will be different for every artist.

The goal is simple:

by the time we come together for the five-day intensive, your album is already alive.

So when we finally walk into the room together, we are not beginning.

We are continuing.

The month afterwards

When the five days finish, your album is not handed back to you half-made.

We carry it through.

The recording and production work is completed.

The album is edited, mixed and mastered.

Artwork is developed.

The record is prepared for release.

Within approximately one month of the intensive, you receive your finished digital album.

Then the vinyl and release process continues according to the choices we have made together.

At the end of this journey, you have an album.

A real one.

A full-length record of your own, with the final shape determined by the music itself.

You can release it publicly.

Share it privately.

Give copies to family and friends.

Or make one beautiful copy and keep the whole thing for yourself.

The dream is complete either way.

Your finished project can include

• your completed, professionally mixed and mastered album

• release on Spotify and other streaming platforms, if you want it there

• a Bandcamp page and shopfront

• professionally designed album artwork

• your own vinyl edition

• professional artist photographs

• a 5–10 minute behind-the-scenes video documenting the making of your album

Your album-making team

At the centre of the project are David and Aimee from Sonic Gold.

We work with you as co-producers, creative collaborators and, where needed, co-writers.

Around the project, we assemble the people required to finish the album properly.

That may include:

What do you need to bring?

Some combination of the following, depending on the vision for your album:

• your singing voice

• finished songs

• unfinished songs

• lyrics

• musical sketches or demos

• an instrument you play

• a willingness to co-write

• stories, ideas and concepts

• your musical taste

• your creative instincts

You do not need to bring all of them.

And you do not need to arrive knowing exactly how they become an album.

That is what we are here for.

How we make the record

We use whatever best serves the music.

Your voice.

Real instruments.

Modern production tools.

Programmed sounds.

A scratchy acoustic guitar.

A beautifully recorded piano.

A virtual drum performance.

A live drummer in a great room.

A string player.

A full band.

Some albums may be made largely between the three of us.

Others may call for specialist musicians or a larger recording setup.

Sonic Gold recommends the production approach and remains responsible for what is realistically achievable within the project.

You remain involved in — and approve — the major artistic decisions.

There is no single location.

Full bands fall outside the core offer.

This keeps the project focused around the person whose dream we are helping bring to life.

Drugs and alcohol are not part of the working experience.

We have too much exciting work — and too much genuine fun — to do.

You do not need to be the most accomplished musician.

You do not need to impress us.
